What is Sticker Scene?
Sticker Scene is a free online Chinese game. Each sticker on the tray hides one question; answer it and the sticker drops onto the scene, where kids drag it around, resize it, tap it to see it change, and build a picture of their own. Scenes so far: a park, a beach, a forest, outer space, and a Mid-Autumn night with the moon, the jade rabbit, mooncakes and lanterns. The Halloween scene has little animals dressed as bedsheet ghosts that throw off the sheet when tapped, along with a witch, a pumpkin and a bat. Any word list works, in listening or reading modes.
In the classroom
Project it and let students take turns choosing a sticker and answering. The class ends up with one shared picture, which is a nice thing to leave on the board. Or hand out tablets and let each student build their own, then save the pictures.
At home
Play on a tablet together. Your child picks the sticker they want, answers the question, and decides where it goes. When the scene is done, save the picture and keep it, or print it out for the fridge.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Sticker Scene free to play?
- Yes. It runs free in the browser on classroom.bbchinese.com, with no app to install.
- What does Sticker Scene teach?
- Listening and character recognition. Questions can be audio, pinyin or zhuyin, or meanings, so the same scene works across levels. The stickers are the reward, not the lesson.
- Can we keep the picture?
- Yes. When you finish, the picture can be saved as an image.
